International Activities
1979 I was elected
member of the Governing Council of the International Institute for the
Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) in Rome and remained there till
1993, since 1989 as second Vice President. During this period the UNIDROIT
Principles, Principles for international commercial contracts have been
elaborated.
As an employee of
the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations I was Secretary of
the Working Group on the New International Economic Order of UNCITRAL
(United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) which elaborated
a Guide on Drafting of International Co-operation Agreements.
Valuable inspiration
in my scientific work came from my membership in the International Law
Association.
After my admission
to the bar I became a member of
International
Bar Association
German-American Lawyers Association
German-British Jurists' Association
German-Israeli Lawyers Association
My clients are mainly
survivors of the holocaust and reside above all in the United States
of America and Israel, but also in Austria, England, France and South
America.
For this reason
I established close co-operation with lawyers in the USA, Israel and
Austria.
